Mustang Island, Port Aransas, TX

Texas-Mustang island is at a very southern end of the state- by the Ark’s opinion-too hot, too humid, and too many mosquitoes; for  me- it is just right! Here is a lot of water around- Mexican Gulf,  All kind of different name Bays, Lakes, Marshes, and never disappearing puddles on the roads. Statistics were definitely wrong  about only four rainy days in September- it’s raining a lot, but its very spotty and warm rains. We live just very, very short walk from the beach- where people usually do their morning or evening “walks” on the golf carts and /or huge tracks- I call that ‘texasian style”.  We actively exploring the area- people farm, (some cotton fields with huge rolls of cotton on the side brought some memories from our student time), fish, work on some refinery facilities and oil platforms by the bay.
