Hermit Trail
Length-3.6 miles, elevation gain -2650 feet. The Hermit Trail in Glacier National Park is famously steep and strenuous. At the start of the trail we were zigzagging through the dark woods with a multiple big trees fallen, violently broken, and thrown in messy piles by some angry, invisible giants. The tree line breaks at about 1900 meters and the spectacular and rewarding views begin. The trail ends at beautiful Hermit Meadows where we had lunch; Eli collected half a ton of rocks and tried to insist that he needs to keep them.
